There is nothing as satisfying to draw as the nude body

There’s just nothing else quite like life drawing. It’s very self indulgent and completely absorbing. It’s a simple and natural pleasure to admire the human body. Everybody loves Nature and will easily enjoy a landscape or a still life. But folk are shy about admiring the nude. I think of the naked body as Nature’s gift to us and as our way to connect most directly with Nature. Life drawing is a way to experience that connection and to discover the simple pleasure of enjoying a nude body.

Life drawing classes

I'll be running a life drawing class in Northrepps, near Cromer in Norfolk, on Sunday 25th June 2023, 10am to 1pm. We'll have a lovely female model and will hopefully draw outside in a garden. You'll need your own art materials and there's plenty of free parking. Get in touch to book your place.

I can offer one to one private life drawing tuition, which is great for really getting into drawing. We can arrange the art lessons at a time that suits us and they can also be done over Zoom if you prefer. Get in touch for more details.

Portrait drawing classes

I’ve been running portrait drawing art classes at the beginning of each month in Sheringham, Norfolk. Next class will be on Sunday 9th July, 2pm to 4.30pm. Learn how best to capture the likeness of your sitter and how to use pencil and charcoal to great effect. Get in touch for more details.
